Scientology Volunteer Ministers of the Scientology Church Led forty Civic Actions Throughout the Czechia in the month of October
From the capital city to Brno, community helpers transform moral principles and care into real-world community change.
Czech Republic — October 31, 2025 — Throughout October, the VMs of the Scientology Church came together in cities throughout the Czechia to revitalize parks and streets, aid community organizations, and renew a renewed sense of community in 4 key cities — Prague; Brno; Plzeň; and Pelhřimov.
In just four weeks, they executed over 40 activities, uniting hundreds of hours of service in eco-friendly and charitable efforts inspired by L. Ron Hubbard’s “The Way to Happiness”, the common-sense ethical guide written by Hubbard.
Impact Through Unity
Each week, fifteen to twenty helpers collaborated in 11+ community activities, dedicating 117 hours of service — plus another 100 hours for a citywide restoration effort in the city of Brno.
That single Brno effort filled 150 bags of waste, turning overgrown areas into accessible green space. In Plzeň, volunteers addressed an derelict woodland area left in unsanitary conditions after temporary encampments, clearing away dangerous waste with care and respect.
“This isn’t glamorous work,” a participant commented. “If not us, then who? Every cleanup is about restoring dignity — to our environment, our fellow citizens, and ourselves.”
Unity Across Differences
The month also featured practical interfaith cooperation. The team gathered and distributed garments for those in need to a Catholic charity, reflecting a commitment to unity that transcends creed.
Mr. Arjona, the Scientology’s envoy to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe, and UN, emphasized the deeper significance of such volunteerism:

Founded by L. Ron Hubbard in the seventies, the Volunteer Ministers program equips individuals with practical skills to offer help and stability in crisis or everyday challenges. Many local VMs also hand out the “The Way to Happiness” booklet during their outreach. Written as a secular moral guide, it contains 21 precepts encouraging personal integrity, truthfulness, and environmental responsibility — principles mirrored in the team’s regular projects.
These humble but ongoing efforts demonstrate how moral awareness and community involvement strengthen one another. “As individuals step up, society becomes stronger and more compassionate,” Arjona remarked.

Municipal representatives in Prague, Brno and other cities have commended the Volunteer Ministers’ consistent efforts. Their active involvement — from tidying walkways to maintaining parks — has inspired community members to participate in or initiate their own local efforts.
